THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has confirmed 1251 new COVID cases on Friday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among the new cases, 1017 persons developed the disease through contact including 73 cases without an identified source of infection. 77 persons had returned from abroad, while 94 had returned from other states. 18 health workers developed the disease in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile. 814 patients tested negative for the virus on Friday, the minister added.
