KOZHIKODE: The man who was reported by their relatives to be missing after the flight crash in Karipur has been located. Malappuram Kuttippuram native Hamsa was found to have been admitted in MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode. What had led to the confusion was his name was entered in the hospital registry as Siraj.
When Hamsa was rushed to the hospital, he was unconscious. The hospital authorities admitted him under the name Siraj as told to them by the ambulance driver. Therefore, when his relatives came there in search of him, the hospital authorities said, there was such person called Hamsa among the plane crash patients in the hospital.
Earlier, it was Hamsa's nephew who complained that there is no information about his uncle after the plane tragedy. Hamsa's name had figured as the 100th name in the list of passengers in the flight. But his name was not in the list of deceased. He was not found among the injured who are under treatment.
From Friday night through Saturday morning, Hamsa’s relatives searched for him in various hospitals in Kozhikode and Malappuram, but in vain.
Failing to find Hamsa even after Saturday morning, the relatives lodged a complaint to the Malappuram district collector and a minister. Following this the list of all hospitals were examined again and finally the missing person was found.
