PATHANAMTHITTA: Following the heavy rain in the region, six shutters of the Pampa dam were opened on Sunday. The shutters were opened in a phased manner as the water level reached 983.45 metres.
There is a high chance that the water level in the Pampa river will get risen by 40 centimetres following the opening of the shutters. However, district authorities said that there is no need for concern. Pathanamthitta District Collector PB Nooh informed that people living along the banks of Pampa and Kakkattu rivers should remain alert.
