KOCHI: The price of gold has continued to fall after advancing breaking records. The price per gram is Rs 4900 after a fall of Rs 200. There was a decrease of Rs 1600 per sovereign and it is Rs 39,200 for a sovereign. The price of gold yesterday was Rs 40,800 and there was twice a decrease of Rs 800. There was a fall of Rs 2800 in the last four days.

The slump was in line with the international spot prices where gold prices fell as US bond yields advanced and the dollar recovered. The price of gold touched 42,000 on Friday and then came down to 40,000 on July 31st.

In the beginning of July, the price of gold was Rs 36,160. Then it came down to Rs 35800. Then it started soaring and then hit record high.
