THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has confirmed 1212 new COVID cases on Wednesday, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among the new cases, 1068 persons developed the disease through contact including 45 cases without an identified source of infection while 51 persons returned from abroad and 64 returned from other states. 22 health workers developed the disease in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 880 patients tested negative for the virus on Wednesday, the minister added.
The state reported five COVID deaths on Wednesday.
