KOZHIKODE: Seven COVID-19 deaths were confirmed in the state on Sunday. The dead were natives of Wayanad, Kannur, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram districts.
Ali (73) of Valat in Wayanad, Krishnan of Kannappuram in Kannur, Sadanandan (63) of Pathiyoor in Alappuzha, Shaharuban (54) of Konni, Remadevi (68) of Chirayinkeezh and Kamalamma (85) of Paravoor were those dead.
Ali of Wayanad, who was undergoing treatment for lung cancer was admitted in the hospital on July 28. Valat is an area where community transmission was there following a marriage held without following COVID protocol. Ali was a resident of the area included in Valat cluster.
Krishnan of Kannur died Saturday night. He was admitted at the Pariyaram Medical College on Thursday. He was under treatment for respiratory problems.
Sadanandan, a native of Alappuzha died Saturday night. He was undergoing treatment for heart, liver and kidney ailments at a private hospital in Alappuzha since July 5. He later tested positive of the virus and was shifted to Alappuzha Medical College.
Shaharuban (54), a native of Konni died in Pathanamthitta.
Remadevi (68) of Chiryankeezhu who died on Saturday was undergoing treatment for heart ailments.
Kamala (85) of Paravoor who died the other day was confirmed of the virus. She was under treatment for respiratory problems. She was confirmed of the virus in the test conducted after her death. But her body was cremated without following COVID protocol.
An inmate of Poojappura Central Jail died of COVID-19 on Sunday. He has been identified as Manikandan, a native of Kilimanoor. He was 72. Manikandan was the first person confirmed of the virus in Poojappura Jail.
