KANNUR: A seventh-month-old baby died of COVID-19 in Kerala. The dead identified as Riza died at the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital. The baby was in the ventilator following severe pneumonia. The baby’s parents were confirmed of the virus earlier.

With this, 11 have died of the virus in the state. The other deaths were reported in Wayanad, Kannur, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram and Thrissur districts.

Four including a prisoner died in Thiruvananthapuram. Manikandan was a prisoner of Poojappura Central Jail. He was 72. He was confirmed of the disease four days back. He was a prisoner of the jail for the past one and a half years.

Remadevi (68) of Chiryankeezhu who died on Saturday was undergoing treatment for heart ailments.

Kamalamma (85) of Paravoor who died the other day was confirmed of the virus. She was under treatment for respiratory problems. She was confirmed of the virus in the test conducted after her death. But her body was cremated without following COVID protocol.

Mahad of Vettoor died while undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college.

Sarada (70) of Kodungalloor in Thrissur died of the virus. She died last night.

Ali (73) of Valat in Wayanad, who was undergoing treatment for lung cancer was admitted in the hospital on July 28. He died at the Mananthavady district hospital this morning. Valat is an area where there was community transmission following a marriage held without following COVID protocol. Ali was a resident of the area included in Valat cluster.

One died of the disease in Pathanamthitta. Shaharuban (54), a native of Konni died in Pathanamthitta. He died while undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College. He was confirmed of the virus just hours before his death.

Krishnan of Kannur died Saturday night. He was admitted at the Pariyaram Medical College on Thursday. He was under treatment for respiratory problems.

Sadanandan (63), a native of Pathiyoor in Alappuzha died Saturday night. He was undergoing treatment for heart, liver and kidney ailments at a private hospital in Alappuzha since July 5. He later tested positive of the virus and was shifted to Alappuzha Medical College.

Fathima of Parapanangadi in Malappuram died at Manjeri Medical College Hospital.
