THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 145 more tested positive of COVID-19 in Poojappura Central Jail raising serious concerns. Of the 298 people tested today, 145 was confirmed of the virus. In the tests conducted earlier, more than 200 inmates and an official tested positive. The first person who tested positive of the virus died this morning at the medical college hospital. He was a native of Kilimanoor. The coming five days will be crucial, said the jail authorities. There are nearly 970 prisoners in the jail.

Those confirmed of the virus have been admitted at the specially erected treatment centre. The remaining inmates will be tested in the coming days.

In the meanwhile, the number of cases are increasing day by day in the state. Yesterday 321 tested positive.
