THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state registered 1758 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. This is the highest single-day spike in Kerala.
Among the new cases, 1641 persons developed the disease through contact including 81 cases without an identified source of infection. 39 persons came from abroad, while 42 persons returned from other states. 25 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
1365 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Tuesday.

The state reported 6 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total death as of today is 175.
There are 1,65,564 persons under observation over various districts in the state including 13,633 in hospitals. On Tuesday alone, 1583 persons were admitted to hospitals.
In the past 24 hours, 29,265 samples were tested. A total of 12,40,076 samples were sent for testing so far.
The state declared 13 new hotspots on Tuesday while removing 18 places from the list
