THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has started investigation to find out the persons among whom she might have shared the big money that was deposited in her locker.
Swapna’s Chartered Accountant had earlier given the statement that bundles of money stored in the locker had been withdrawn and given to certain persons at different times. The ED will question the CA to know more about this deal.
The locker had been booked jointly by Swapna and former principal secretary M Sivasankar. By questioning the CA, the ED aims to find out the real beneficiaries of the money in the locker.
The ED also presumes that Swapna is a benami of some big guns.
Swapna took Rs 4.25 crore commission in two instalments
Meanwhile, the owner of Unitac Builders, the construction company which was awarded the work on the Life Mission apartment project in Wadakkanchery, has reportedly told the ED during the interrogation that he had paid commission to the tune of Rs 4.5 crore to Swapna Suresh and her associates P S Sarith and Sandeep Nair, all accused in the gold smuggling case.
The three accused had demanded 6% commission. According to t instruction of Swapna, Rs 55 lakh was deposited in the account of Sandeep.
He also revealed to the ED that the company representatives had met former Principal Secretary M Sivasankar.
