THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said the government claim that it had no connection with Wadakkancherry Life Mission project is a blatant lie.
The government’s presence is there in all dealings. The Unitac got the project due to the interference of the government. The Opposition leader blamed that everything happened with the knowledge of the chief minister.
“The chief minister had summoned the files related to the Life Mission in order to hoodwink the public. I had asked for a copy of MoU regarding the project but I’m yet to get it. If the Minutes of the project meetings comes out, the first person to be in the spot will be the chief minister. The manner in which the contract was signed was also mysterious and all related procedures were carried out without informing Mission Secretary and CEO,” he said.
Chennithala said that there were conspiracy at the higher levels. The disclosure that the corruption was committed to the tune of Rs 4.25 core is a serious matter.
“Everyone knew about the details of the graft. The finance minister covered up the bribery though he was aware of it,” he said, adding that the chief minister should resign before the Assembly session and there was no point in sending out MLAs to justify the deal.
