THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Friday lashed out at the Centre over its decision to lease out the Thiruvananthapuram airport through public-private partnership (PPP). While stating that the people of Kerala oppose the privatisation of the airport, Kodiyeri urged every Keralite to cooperate in the protest against privatisation by leaving aside political differences.

"The centre's decision on Thiruvananthapuram airport is extremely objectionable. It is planning to commit huge corruption by leasing out the airport While the government is considering to sell 6 airports now, it is also planning to sell 6 more in the future. The Narendra Modi government is working in such a way that intends to hand over all airports and seaports to Adani enterprise. The people of Kerala will oppose this move, " Kodiyeri said. He also added that the state government is ready to take over the airport for the same price that was quoted by the Adani group.
