THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI is currently questioning Prakash Thampi, who was the manager of the late violinist Balabhaskar, in connection with his death.

The CBI is trying to find out whether any gold smuggling racket others had role in Balabhaskar’s “accidental” death. The violinist’s relatives had earlier rejected the Crime Branch’s finding that his death was due to a mere road accident.

The relative’s allegation is that it was a well-planned murder committed by a gold smuggling racket, using Balabhaskar’s driver Arjun as cover.

The CBI had earlier recorded the statements of Balabhaskar’s wife Lekshmi and witness Kalabhavan Sobi. On Friday, the CBI had collected evidence from Lekshmi’s relative Priya Venugopal, who also alleged mystery behind the death.
