ALAPPUZHA: Techgentsia, the Cherthala based IT company that got national-level recognition for developing a video conferencing software with world-class features, has now started works to develop a conferencing system that uses artificial intelligence.
Talking to Keralakaumudi, Techgentsia's CEO Joy Sebastian said that the works to develop such a system have already begun. "There is no such system anywhere in the world. The aim is to make use of the possibilities", Sebastian briefed Keralakaumudi on their future plans.
"A five-member Research and Dedication team has been formed for this. Tony Thomas, who is currently working in Australia and one of the founders of Techgentsia, will lead the team. The main feature of this is that viewers will get a real-time experience of the sound and movement of the person taking part in the conference. At this juncture, can't give more explanation on this. This is an endeavor formed from confidence", Joy Sebastian said.
Techgentsia Software Technologies won the Centre's "Innovation Challenge for Development of Video Conferencing Solution" on August 20 for developing Vconsol. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced the winner, who was awarded the prize money of Rs 1 crore with an additional Rs 10 lakhs towards O&M (operation and maintenance) for the next three years.
The company has a turnover of $1.5 million annually and the founders hope to increase its income by ten times. The company which only has product as of now, hopes to reach its aim quickly by making steps into sales and marketing.
