KOCHI: The Kadavanthra police on Saturday arrested former Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) chairman N Venugopal and three employees of GCDA for allegedly moving air conditioner and furniture worth several lakhs from the GCDA guest house. The arrested employees have been identified as GCDA assistant engineer (Civil) Shiny, former assistant executive engineers Mohanadasan and Dileep Gopalakrishnan. The accused were soon released as they had obtained anticipatory bail from Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court.
CN Mohananan had sworn in as GCDA Chairman in December 2016. Soon it was found out that air conditioner and several other furniture had gone missing from the official residence of the chairman. Following this, a complaint was filed at the Kadavanthra police station in January 2017.
