THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ending the silence over the controversy over acquiring Thiruvanathapuram International airport by Adani group, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas company has issued an official clarification. The company spokesman said that Kerala govt had kept the amount a secret until bidding started.

The company spokesman has revealed to a media house that the firm had not made any interference in deciding final amount for the bid made by the Kerala government and it had only given legal assistance. “We never reveal the details of our clients to a third party. We haven’t given any legal advice to Adani group on the issue, they have their own legal advisors,” he said.

Industries minister E P Jayarajan said that the state government was unaware of the relations between Adani and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas group. KSIDC approached Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas group as the government thought it was a ‘gentleman’ company.

Yesterday, the minister had clarified that no one in government apparatus knew that Adani’s daughter-in-law was the chief of the firm.
