THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police arrested and shifted BJP leaders who protested in front of the assembly seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the gold smuggling case. Police forcefully shifted leaders including BJP state chief K Surendran, advocate S Suresh, George Kurien, P Sudheer, vice president V T Rema and secretaries from the spot.

K Surendran who spoke after O Rajagopal MLA inaugurated the protest said protests would continue till the chief minister who arranged shelter for anti-nationals resigns. The BJP informed their protests against Speaker Sreeramakrishnan. K Surendran said O Rajagopal MLA was not given an opportunity to speak on the airport issue. He also alleged that money in the gold smuggling case went to the chief minister.
