KOCHI: The families of Sarath Lal and Kripesh, who were murdered in Periya, have moved the high court against the government's appeal opposing a CBI probe in the double murder case. There is no verdict on the government's appeal opposing the CBI probe in the murder case for nine months now. The families want to shift the case to another bench. In the plea, they also requested the court to conduct another hearing and deliver a verdict. The plea will be considered on Tuesday.

The HC ordered a CBI probe in the case in October 2019. However, the government appealed against this at the division bench. The division bench has not yet stayed the single bench order. The HC reserved its judgement on the case after hearing arguments on the government's appeal.
