THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state registered 1242 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, health minister KK Shailaja informed.

Among the new cases, 1081 persons developed the disease through contact including 95 cases without an identified source of infection. 39 persons came from abroad, while 88 persons returned from other states. 34 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
1238 patients tested negative for the virus on Monday.

The state reported 11 COVID deaths on Monday.

As many as 1,83,448 people are under observation including 17,037 in hospitals. 1,877 persons were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 26,186 samples were tested. As of today, a total of 14,46,380 samples were tested in the state.

The government declared 23 new hotspots in the state while removing 17 places from the list. Currently, there are 622 hotspots in Kerala.
