THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president K Surendran has harshly criticized the Opposition for their performance during the non-confidence motion on Monday, saying that Ramesh Cheninithala lacked the energy to confront Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

“The Opposition’s style has been to help the enemy in a war. This has been the state for the past four years. The same reflected on the Non-confidence motion, as well.

A chief minister who ducks questions and an Opposition that has lost its credibility are the bane of Kerala. If the BJP had ten members in the Assembly, the government would have learnt a lesson. The UDF lack sincerity,” he said.

Surendran said Opposition leader Chennithala who provided a platform for the chief minister to boast of his achievements is the latter’s lucky charm.

“Though there was all arrows in its quiver, the Opposition had only one deficiency - that is lack of brains. The naïve Opposition was not able to make the chief minister answer many questions people have in their mind.”

Surendran also alleged that the chief minister was also trying for communal polarization to win the next election. That was the reason why he echoed Minister K T Jaleel’s explanation on importing the so-called Quran parcel. The chief minister also made unnecessary allusion to the Ram temple in the Assembly with this intention
