KOCHI: Two kilograms of gold in the form of mixture and worth Rs 84 lakh was seized at the Cochin International Airport here on Tuesday. The gold was confiscated from a passenger who arrived from Abu Dhabi.

Despite the Customs busting the gold smuggling racket that was operating through diplomatic channel, several gold smuggling instances had come to the notice of the Customs over the past several months.

The gold was seen smuggled via Karipur International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
