THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have filed a case against BJP State president K Surendran and eight others for barging into the Secretariat protest, breaching security cordon and violating Covid protocol on Tuesday.
The case has been filed by Cantonment police. The case also has District president V V Rajesh as one of the accused. Yesterday when the fire broke out in an office at Secretariat, Surendran and some BJP men had reached the spot. Police arrested and removed them when they entered the premise and protested.
When asked about the case, Surendran said he didn’t know on what basis the case was filed against him.
“Pinarayi Vijayan has lost his mental balance. The outer world has very well seen what was going on when the fire incident took place. I have not made any aggression at the Secretariat. What Pinarayi is doing is to silence people who speak up truth and I don’t take the case seriously,” he told media.
