THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police will investigate the fire incident at the protocol section in Secretariat on the basis of available CCTV visuals. The investigation team of police will submit the evidences collected from the site, before the court today. Evidences will be sent to the forensic lab later.

The investigation team will record testimonies of more witnesses today. Yesterday, police has recorded testimonies of a staff working in water resources department and others who came to the site immediately after the fire broke out. Investigation team will submit report once the result of forensic tests are obtained.

PWD department in its report submitted to the chief minister, has cited that fire happened at the protocol section due to technical snag in the ceiling fan. The general administration department has also said that all the files in protocol section are intact. The documents which were partly affected by the fire, will be scanned today. Meanwhile, NIA has sought information on the fire incident from the Central Intelligence Bureau.
