CHENNAI: Recent appearances of posters showing actor Vijay as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has become a threat to major political parties in Tamil Nadu. Already disputes are going on among parties and within certain parties, as they are preparing for elections.

Some posters showed Vijay as MGR and his wife Sangeetha as Jayalalitha. More such posters emerged in Madurai, Salem and Ramanathapuram.

After the release of his movie Bigil, Vijay gave a hint that he would enter politics. The movie Bigil strongly opposed some of the policies of the Central government including GST. This triggered many controversies and Vijay was even attacked in the name of his caste and name.

The actor also faced income tax raids at his residence and office during the time of the shoot of his film ‘Masters’. His fans then said that all this were signs of his imminent political entrance. However, Vijay has not made any official declaration on the poster issue.
