THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state registered 2406 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed.
Among the new cases, 2175 persons developed the disease through contact including 193 cases without an identified source of infection.
Speaking to the media after the daily COVID analysis meeting, Pinarayi Vijayan said that the COVID situation in South India is becoming more and more critical. While Karnataka has recorded more than 3 lakh COVID cases so far, the COVID cases reported by Tamil Nadu has crossed 4 lakh mark.
2067 patients tested negative for the virus on Thursday.

The state reported 10 COVID deaths on Thursday, the CM added. The total death toll is now 267.
