As an Onam gift to Kerala, Global Industrial and Trade city project will come up in Kochi under the name Gift City. The state government has granted Rs 540 crores to take over 220 hectares of land near International Airport, Aluva for the GIFT project.

National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust is responsible for the execution of GIFT city project. The project document will be prepared and the construction will start in eight months.

The role of National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust

The role of National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NCDT) is to provide funds and technical support for implementation of project, plan preparation and industrial development. The responsibilities of NCDT includes detailed master planning, initial engineering, making designer report, 3D model, study on EIA, environment clearance, tender package and development of BM model and bid process management in consultation with the government.


The project plan

The master plan agency will take charge in September.
Land acquisition in February 2020.
The master plan will be completed in February 2021.
Clearance and tender will start in March and end in May.
