The outbreak of COVID pandemic paved way to mental instabilities in many. To engage in some interesting activities is the need of the hour. Movies have been a major source of entertainment for many but the theatres remain to be closed ever since the outbreak. It was a disheartening thing for many a movie buff. Many have turned their homes to theatre now. Through his Facebook post Muralee Thummarukudy, the chief of Disaster Risk Reduction in the UN Environment Programme, has come up with a list of movies that should be watched during the time of COVID. He has also stated some guidelines to be followed while selecting the movies like the film must be highly positive, it shouldn’t be a tragedy or evoke tension among audience. Those who want to protect their mental health can watch movies at home.

The Facebook post says that Muralee along with his family decided to watch a movie each on every Friday and Saturday evening. The show begins at 10.00 pm and some conditions are to be followed. Before the show all must finish their work off and should be completely free, no one is allowed to leave the show in between. He also listed some movies he watched which include Invictus, Rush, Death at a Funeral, Grand Budapest Hotel. Muralee also sought similar movie suggestions from his readers. He said no hope is left regarding the opening of theatres in near future so those who wish to protect their mental health during this depressive time can set a mock theatre experience at home. “You can have an awesome experience if you can get popcorns, added Muralee.
