THRISSUR: Renowned film director Yatheendradas (74) passed away on Saturday in Thrissur. He was a cancer patient and was undergoing treatment for pneumonia at Thrissur Jubilee Mission Medical College. His funeral will take place at Shanthi Ghat Crematorium in Paramekkavu on Sunday morning.

Yatheendradas' health deteriorated while he was busy with the dubbing works of his latest film 'Ulkkanal' starring Saikumar. He had worked as an associate director with several prominent directors such as M Vincent, Sethumadhavan, Balu Mahendra and BK Pottekad.

His movie "Omanathinkal' was selected as the best movie at the German Children's Film Festival. He also directed the movie 'Oduvil Kittiya Vartha' and various documentaries. Yatheendradas is survived by wife Nimmi.
