THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be no sale of liquor in the state for three days including Thiruvonam. The move is aimed at avoiding rush in the wake of COVID-19. A holiday was earlier announced for the outlets of BEVCO and Consumerfed. Therefore, a decision was taken to stop the sale of liquor for three days realising that if bars were allowed on that day, there will be a possibility of a huge crowd.

Meantime, new changes have come in Bev Q app. Liquor is available immediately upon booking. The condition that those who book using the app can book again only after three days has been lifted.
