THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In connection with the murder of two DYFI men at Venjaramoodu, the police have arrested six persons including a Congress man. The arrested Congress person is Velli Sajeev and he is suspected to be the main accused in the case. He was picked up from a saw mill.

The killed persons were DYFI men Huq Muhammad *(24) and Mithilraj (30). Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP clarified that the political rivalry was the reason behind the murder. The police have also seized the bike on which the accused came to the crime spot.

The murder took place at Venjaramoodu around 11.30 pm on Sunday, police said. Mithil and Haq were travelling on a two-wheeler when they were allegedly stopped and attacked by a group of men.

While Mithil Raj died on the spot, Haq succumbed to his injuries at the medical college hospital. Police added that one of the suspects, Ansar, was earlier arrested in connection with a smiliar case and was out on bail.
