Swami Chidanandapuri has sought apology from Minister Thomas Isaac for addressing Vamana, one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, as a betrayer. Swami raised this demand through a Facebook video. At the inception of the video he stated that it has been posted for the attention of the Hindu society. “Thomas Isaac has defamed Hindu beliefs. What right he has, to tweet that Vamana has cheated Mahabali. This is unendurable. He should apologise for his contemptuous remark”, demanded Chidanandapuri.
The minister’s tweet conveying Onam wishes paved way to the allegations. “Happy Onam! We celebrate Mahabali who did not discriminate by caste or creed, not Vamana who cheated him...”tweeted the minister.
BJP state president K Surendran also came forth demanding apology from Thomas Isaac for making blasphemous comments on Vamana. What made Thomas Isaac possible to call Vamana a cheat? Is it possible for the minister to take similar stand against other religions? K Surendran asked via Facebook post.
