THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Film actor Harish Peradi said that at least from the next election, the practice of giving candidature to celebrities should be stopped. Harish Peradi through his Facebook post has asked why left front should hold the burden of such ignorant, ill-informed celebrities who don’t respond on public issues. According to him, among celebrities, only Ganesh Kumar is qualified to make statements on public issues.

“In the countryside, there are many local leaders in the left front who actively involve in people’s issues, I strongly believe that only such people deserve to come up in the leadership. However, if there are certain persons who would like to woo everybody, let them do some comedy shows.”

His Facebook post is as follows:

I had this thought after hearing the news of two innocent comrades being killed. At least from the next election, the practice of giving candidature to film actors in Parliament and Assembly polls should be ended...Why should left front hold the burden of these ignorant brats who don’t respond in any public issues? The only exception is Ganesh Kumar who make open statements on issues affecting the public. The left front has many able workers who actively intervene in day to day matters concerning the commoners in Kerala and they deserve to come up in leadership lines. If there are certain persons who would like to entertain everybody, let them do some comedy shows… They won’t be able to hold the burden of people’s problems….
