PERUMBAVOOR: Sree Narayana Guru's renowned literary work 'Daivadashakam' was carved onto pencil heads by Perumbavoor native Ajith M Jayan, thereby securing a place in the India Book of Records. Ajith, a micro artist, took 13.3 hours to carve Daivadashakam onto 41 pencils. This is the first time in India that a complete literary work was carved onto a pencil. Ajith was known for carving pictures and names on pencils. His admiration for Gurudevan's vision was the motivation behind this micro art.
On Mohanlal's birthday, he carved 60 character names of the actor with the collaboration of 60 artists and shared it on social media. On KS Chithra's birthday, he gave a tribute by carving the famous song 'Karmukil Varnante Chundil' on pencil.
Ajith was a temporary teacher at Okkal ITI and now makes a living by taking home tuition classes. He also takes PSC online classes and micro art classes on YouTube.
Ajith is a member at the Ashamannoor SNDP unit.
