THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Activists chase to hack Kolathoor Kolathukara branch secretary Anil Kumar with a sword. He was attacked by the activists. The police team led by Thumba CI arrested Rajendran aka Agni (42), native of Kunjalumoodu and his friend and CPM worker Arun (27), native of Manvila, Kulathoor in connection with the incident.
The incident occurred around 6.00 pm on Wednesday in front of Anil Kumar’s residence near Guru Nagar in Kulathoor. The protest staged as part of black day observance paved way to verbal brawl between the two factions which further led to the conflict. Anil Kumar was attacked and was chased to hack.

The police said past enmity is behind the attack. A team led by Anil Kumar had attacked Rajendran near Infosys during last Onam. The Thumba police had registered a case against Anil Kumar and others in that issue. Rajendran was ousted from party as he denied the opinion of local leaders to withdraw the plaint and to settle the dispute.
