The Kannada film industry has been wholly consumed by the recent row over substance abuse. Now, actor Kichha Sudeep has severely responded to the rumours that stated the late actor Chiranjeevi Sarja’s links with the drug racket. Director, Indrajith Lankesh alleged that drugs like cannabis were rampantly smuggled in the Kannada film industry. These allegations were followed by Sudeep’s response.
“It has been just a few months since Chiranjeevi Sarja left us. He was more like a brother to me. Chiranjeevi’s wife Meghana Raj and his brother Dhruv Sarja are still with us. They have not yet come out of that grief. So, don’t hurt the family anymore by dragging Chiranjeevi’s name into unnecessary controversies. I will not react about things which I am unaware of. The Kannada film industry is really huge. Don’t blame the entire industry for the mischievous acts of a few people in the industry”, said Kichha Sudeep.
Indrajith Lankesh told the media persons that he had revealed the names of almost 15 actors relating to the drug mafia and his revelations have been further supported with videos and pictures which he handed over to the police. Following this, the rumours that Chiranjeevi Sarja had connections with drug peddlers were spread.
