THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Thiruvanathapuram district secretary, Anavoor Nagappan has issued a clarification over the CCTV visuals where the murdered CPM workers were seen holding weapons. He told media that either they might have kept the weapons for self-defence or they might have seized weapons from the attackers itself. The murdered CPM workers have never attempted to attack anyone.

“It is a well-planned murder done by trained gundas. They had pre-planned that the killings should happen on Thiruvonam, ” Anavoor alleged. He also said that Adoor Prakash is involved in the conspiracy behind the murder as he tried to escape from the murder charges. Brawls and fights started happening in Tempamoodu after Lok Sabha polls were held. Anavoor also said that earlier, it was a Congress stronghold but later many young Congress workers had joined CPM. The murdered DYFI workers belong to such a group.

Weapons became an integral part of the struggles launched by the Congress after the entry of Adoor Prakash as MP. A day before counting, Congress workers started picking up fights with CPM workers as they thought that we got an upper hand in the poll campaign.

“Top leaders of Congress have links in this murder. It is interpreted as a crime which occurred due to personal differences between individuals and to substantiate this claim, Congress dragged DK murali MLA into this case. Congress is insulting the murdered workers by calling them gundas. A detailed investigation is needed in the case,” he said.
