KANNANALLUR: A man, who went missing from Kannannallur in Kollam, was found lying inside an abandoned well. The deceased has been identified as Shaukkath Ali (60). Police arrested the victim's two friends in connection with the incident.

The arrested have been identified as Shaukkath Ali's friends Shaiju and Aneesh. The body was found inside an abandoned well in a rubber plantation in Anchal. According to sources, Shaukkath Ali left his home on August 28 along with Shaiju and Aneesh to buy chicken. However, he did not return back to the house and his wife filed a missing complaint at the Kannanallur police station on August 30. The incident came to light after Shaiju was taken into custody and interrogated. Following this, the body was recovered from the abandoned well.

According to police, both Shaukkath Ali and Shaiju got involved in a fight on August 28 after consuming alcohol at Shaiju's house. In a fit of rage, Shaiju beat Shaukkath Ali to death. Later, he called Aneesh and the two dumped the victim's body in the well.
