KANNUR: The police arrested an auto driver for murdering Sobha (37), an adivasi woman in Kannur. The driver has been identified as Vipin K, a native of Kolayad in Iritty. An investigation focusing on Sobha's mobile phone proved the death to be a murder. After murdering her, he stole her gold and mobile. Police said a verbal dispute led to the murder of the woman.

Her husband died ten years ago and after that she got intimate with Vipin. She used to fight with Vipin over his relationship with another woman. He took her to an isolated place to talk about it. A verbal dispute broke out and this ended in the murder. The police collected evidence after taking him to the spot.
