ALAPPUZHA: Recent reports suggest that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is likely to field a candidate for the upcoming by-election in Kuttanad assembly. Reports also suggest that former minister Thomas Chandy's brother Thomas K Thomas will be the party's candidate for the by-election.

It was Thomas K Thomas himself who hinted this during an interview with a news channel. Earlier, Thomas Chandy's wife had written to Chief Minister, NCP leaders and CPM State Secretary requesting them to field Thomas as LDF candidate for the by-election.
