KANNUR: 11 years back, on a teacher’s Day, Hemaja teacher was murdered by her husband. After the incident, Teacher’s day is a shocking memory to her relatives. She was very attached to relatives, friends and students. But the accused behind the murder is absconding. The hideout of her husband Dingan Shashi is still unknown. There are different rumours behind his hideout. Some people doubt that he might have absconded to some other countries. While, some claim that he is still there in the country. Hemaja had asked her husband to give back her sister’s ornaments kept in the locker. This led to a physical fight between them which eventually concluded in murder. Shashi was waiting for days to kill Hemaja after digging the pit for her. But his script didn’t work and he escaped leaving her body.

About the incident

Hemaja was murdered on September 5th 2009. Her body was taken out by her husband and his friend Dingan Shashi at night. His friend Shashi left the place in fear of the murder and this trapped the accused. The people found Hemaja`s body at the front seat of an omni van. She was murdered by slitting the throat. The accused was arrested by the police in a few days but no one knows where he is now.

About the investigation.

Action committee was formed to make the investigation more active. Hemaja`s father Ambadi Chandrashekharan had approached the high court. As a result, police searched Shasheendran in Goa, Mumbai and Bengal but in vain. There is a rumour that the accused is living safely in his hideout. Due to the transfer of officials the case is not yet closed. At present, DYSP P P Sadananthan is in charge of the case.
