KOLLAM: Shibu Baby John will contest from Chavara as UDF candidate in the upcoming by-polls, says the president of Kollam DCC, Bindu Krishna. She also said that an official declaration on this regard will be issued soon. UDF has started campaigning activities when the official notification for by-polls was issued by the election commission.

“UDF will come back with a great majority. There are strong undercurrents in Chavara favouring UDF and Shibu is a leader who is always visible among the people of this constituency. UDF’s only request is that all people should be allowed to vote despite the limitations of the current situation,” Bindu Krishna said.

UDF workers have also started poll campaigning for Shibu Baby John in Social Media. Although any confirmation is not yet made by UDF leadership, it is almost certain among party circles that Shibu will be everybody’s choice.

Meanwhile, LDF will put a CPM candidate, in Chavara constituency. In the recent assembly election in Chavara, it was for the first time that a non-RSP candidate had won the elections. Vijayan Pillai who contested under CMP’s ticket had defeated Shibu Baby John.
