THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI on Saturday told the CPM that it will inform its stand on cooperating with Jose faction of Kerala Congress after Jose K Mani makes a decision regarding his political stance. The statement came from CPI after CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan held a discussion with CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran.

The statement was made by Kanam Rajendran after Kodiyeri pointed out that the Jose faction has been favouring the LDF in recent days. However, it must be noted that the CPI has not openly expressed any dissatisfaction regarding the Jose faction's entry to the LDF. Sources said that the CPI Executive will meet and discuss the issue once Jose announces his stance.
Meanwhile, the CPM seems to be favouring the entry of Jose faction to the LDF. It must be noted that Kodiyeri had supported the Jose faction during a recent party secretariat meet. The party also hopes that CPI will not oppose Jose's entry to the front. It has been decided that the LDF meeting will on September 18 to discuss the matter. The entry of Jose faction to the front and the by-polls to Kuttanad and Chavara will be the main topics of discussion.

With the Election Commission announcing that the by-elections will take place in November, Jose faction will be forced to take an immediate decision regarding its political stance.
