KOCHI: The Bengaluru drug trafficking case has its links in Kerala's Kochi as many famous movie personalities were either arrested or take in custody by NCB.

After Ragini Dwivedi, Veeren Khanna, the chief organiser of drug parties was arrested by police. He was arrested by Delhi police. Veeren was running a club consisting of non-resident people in Karnataka under the grab of which he conducted night parties ridden with drugs. Sources said that many path-breaking information was received from him.

The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) has received information that Veeren Khanna used to organize drug parties in Kochi. The Kochi unit of the bureau has started a probe on the same. The probe will also try to find the involvement of Malayalam cinema stars and models, if any, with the crime.

“With his arrest, the accused in the case has become four in number,” joint commissioner Sandeep Patil said. Other than Ragini and Veeren, the close friend of the actress, K Ravishankar and Rahul Shetty, a friend of Sanjana Galrani has been questioned. Sanjana Galrani will be questioned soon.

Meanwhile, new evidences has revealed the involvement of Jimrin Ashi in drug-trafficking case. His name is visible in the screenshots of chat messages between Anoop Muhammed and Anikha. Jimrin was the peson who introduced Anikha to Anoop Muhammed. With this development, NIA has intensified look out for Jimrin. Narcotics bureau has also prepared a list of 159 people to be questioned under the probe. This list involves Malayalees who are working as techies, businessmen and hotel staff.

Anikha and Jimrin Ashi have close ties with some young professionals in the Malayalam film industry. The investigation will be centered around this.

Liquor brands sponsored Veeren Khanna's DJ parties in Bengaluru. The group sold drugs in the party under this cover. It is learnt that a DJ party was held in Kochi last year.

Mohammed Anoop, in his statement to the police, said they used to provide drugs at night parties.

Ragini’s arrest could lead the case to more individuals. Probe of Narcotics Bureau on persons linked to Anoop is also going on.

KT Ramees, who collected investments for gold smuggling in Thiruvananthapuram airpot via diplomatic channel, was among the contacts in Anoop's phone. The preventive department of the Customs will also probe Ramees' possible investment in drug trafficking.

The drugs for Mohammad Anoop's group was brought by Nigerian native Lom Pepper Samba. Another Nigerian by the name Okavo Chigosi Colin was the dealer in the drug case in Kochi involving a young actor and model. He was arrested at Ernakulam south railway station with drugs. The Nigerian group deals with the trafficking of synthetic drugs between Bengaluru and Kochi. These drugs are highly preferred by new gen groups as it is odorless and easier to handle.
