KOTTAYAM: Jose K Mani may resign from Rajya Sabha. The party intends to make a move in order to bid for Pala assembly seat. As UDF has ended its efforts to induct Jose faction into their fold, it is almost confirmed that Jose K Mani might get into LDF.

However, the steering committee to be held today might also discuss the actions to be taken against defected MLAs. District committees of the party have already prepared the list of those who should be disqualified. Steering committee might also give an official nod to send notices to legislators in local bodies, who haven’t come back from the Joseph faction after poll panel’s decision. The meeting will also discuss the stand to be taken in Kuttanad by-polls and induction to LDF.

District committees are interested to get into LDF. Talks are also going on to make a secret pre-poll understanding with LDF in the upcoming local body polls. P J Joseph has already filed a plea in Thodupuzha court against using the chairman post of Jose faction. Joseph has cited that by using the poll panel’s recognition, Jose K Mani considers himself as chairman, which amounts to contempt of court. The meet will discuss legal actions to be taken on this issue.
