THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department warns of heavy rains in the state. Orange alert has been sounded in Thrissur, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. These places are likely to receive heavy or very heavy rainfall. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Malappuram will receive heavy rains tomorrow.

Yellow alert has been sounded in Ernakulam, Idukki, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts. There are chances for heavy rains here. Generally, North and Central Kerala are likely to receive heavy rainfall. As there is a possibility for strong winds and waves in the coastal areas, fishermen and residents have been asked to be vigilant.
