KANNUR: A worker of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) was stabbed to death at Kannavam in Kannur district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Syed Salahuddin who was the seventh accused in the murder of ABVP leader Shyamaprasad two years ago.
The incident occurred by around 3.40 pm when Syed was travelling with his family members in a car. The assailants, who came on motorbikes, blocked the car and went on to stab Syed repeatedly. Though he was soon rushed to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead.
Following this, SDPI has alleged that RSS workers had conspired to murder Syed. Police have registered an FIR and an investigation has been initiated. Syed's body is currently kept at Thalassery General Hospital morgue. He is survived by wife Najeeba, son Aswasalam and daughter Hadiya.
