THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Driving schools in the state will be permitted to open from Monday. Transport Minister A K Saseendran said the centre has given permission to open the driving schools. The schools will function following COVID guidelines. Only two are permitted in a vehicle. Only the person trained and the trainer should be in the vehicle. The vehicles and the firm should be disinfected, the minister said.
Driving schools in cantonment zones are not permitted to open. The Driving School Association came forward against the decision of not allowing driving schools to function despite relaxations in lockdown. Driving schools across the state have been closed for five months following the lockdown.
