Her two sons are settled in Kochi. There are some reasons for Mallika Sukumaran for not leaving Thiruvananthapuram and go to Ernakulam. I studied and grew up in the capital city and so have a lot of personal relationships here. She opened her mind in an interview given to Kaumudy TV.

She said that her life has proved that she is a good mother and a good mother-in-law. In an interview to the channel, she revealed that it was the training given by her late husband Sukumaran that enabled her to do so.

“One philosophy I have seen is that daughters’ love their mothers even after marriage, but in the case of boys, they are getting a friend, love will be divided there which is quite natural. When that happens, mother-in-laws will complain that they went there and here. I am entirely different,” these are the things her husband had told her the most.
