THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There seems no end to the scale of COVID-19 spread in the state capital as the cases through contact continues to form the majority of daily cases. In the past 24 hours, 502 of 531 confirmed cases in the district developed the disease through contact. Among the cases, there are 26 health workers as well.

Six deaths were recorded in the district on Wednesday. COVID-19 was confirmed in Vizhinjam native Ahammed Rifai (65) who died on August 21, Balaramapuram native Sreejith (21) who died on September 4, Manacaud native Neelakanda Sharma (68) who died on September 5, Malayinkeezhu native Santha (70), and Vallakkadavu native Mohanan (70) who died on September 6.

Chemmaruthi (17,18) in Thiruvananthapuram was declared as a hotspot on Wednesday. Kuttichal (10,11,12) was removed from the list of hotspots.
