KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate let off Bineesh Kodiyeri after over 11 hours of questioning at the Enforcement office here. He has been asked to report again after one week. He'll be grilled again next week after studying his statement in detail. Bineesh cooperated with the questioning in which he gave key details, a top ED official told Keralakaumudi.

The questioning was regarding the accused of the gold smuggling case and their links with the Bengaluru drug racket. The investigation team also questioned Bineesh's connection with Swapna Suresh's firms and other financial transactions. ED questioned Bineesh's transactions with UA FX Solutions director Abdul Latheef. The ED joint commissioner came from Chennai as part of the questioning.

Bineesh is a partner of Abdul Latheef's Paragon Hotel in Kesavadasapuram. He also has close ties with Anoop Mohammed, an accused of the Bengaluru drug case.

While leaving the office, Bineesh didn't respond to the media.

The sudden questioning of ED came while the Narcotics Control Bureau was about to question Bineesh in connection with the Bengaluru drug smuggling case. Bineesh came to the ED office in Kochi by 9.30 am.

The questioning commenced after the ED assistant director P Radhakrishnan came to the office at 10 am.
